MilesBuzz! - Buy Pork/Beef Products, Fly Cheaper...
Just got an ad out of our Sunday paper's regular coupon section that reads as follows:
"Receive UP TO a $100 Flight Voucher, some restrictions apply. Valid on a round-trip ticket on most major airlines with the purchase of 2 packages of Hormel Always Tender Flavored Pork or Beef."
Offer must be completed by 12/09/01 and you of course need those pesky proof-of-purchase stickers.
Does anyone have any further info about this promo, specifically which airlines are particiapting, what fares and routes they are good for, and what other "restrictions" there may be? Wanna find out if it is worth the purchases to particiapte in this promo. Thanks! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Didn't see it in my paper. I'd suggest you look at the fine print and find the website or toll free number.
I contacted Hormel. Instead of giving me the information, I was told to go to the grocery store and read the rules on the product! You will have to read the fine print on the "Always Tender Flavored" Hormel package.

And they say airlines give you poor service?
Yikes!

E - first of all I love your handle - very efficient - I wanted to ask if you would let us know more about this if you find out the airlines, if there is a minimum ticket price, if only good on full-fares, etc. Thanx.

Apparently, Hormel's ad for this promo seems insensitive in light of the Sept 11th attacks. What's not clear is whether or not the promo is still valid. Here is info from Hormel's Web site:
Hormel Foods would like to apologize for the tone of our preprinted promotional insert in today's paper. The piece was developed long before the terrorist attacks of September 11, and due to printing and distribution processes beyond our control, could not be cancelled. We regret any offense that may be taken.
This tragedy has touched all of us, and we offer our deepest
sympathies to the families and friends of the victims.

lisamcgu...thanks for the compliment...I think I hold the distinction of the shortest handle on FT, pretty cool, eh? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
For everyone else...being the good little Jewish boy that I am, I ran over to the grocery store and bought a Hormel Always Tender Flavored Pork product with this "deal" listed on the front...here is what it says:
First of all, it contains a small Mail In form, and on the back of it the following text: "Discount certificates may only be applied to airfare totaling $150 or more. Discounts vary by airline and are not available to specific hub cities. Reservations must be made at least 14 days prior to departure and a Saturday stay is required on most fares. Discount certificates may not be combined with any other promotional offer or airline discount. This offer is void where prohibited by applicable local, State, or Federal law. Ticketing and reservation must be made based on the advance purchase requirement. Travel must be completed by May 15, 2002. Black-out dates for all destinations may apply during peak travel days and holiday periods. Additional restrictions and processing fees may apply. See back of certificate for full Terms & Conditions.
...Wow! What a mouth-full (no pun intended!) Not too specific, and sounds like you need to get the certificate "in-hand" before revealing all the nitty-gritty details and restrictions. But...it probably worth two Hormel prok/beef meals for us, and we will probably go with this promo.

And even if it turns out to be worthless, you can probably sell it on ebay for more than you paid http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

"Discount certificates may not be combined with any other promotional offer or airline discount."
Hmmmm ... oh well, even if this means it is the amt off a full-fare ticket, at least the fun quotient amt will be worth it!

sounds to me like the Continental Entertainment Book coupons...except given where Austin, MN is, I'd bet the discount is on Northwest!
