I've using a Linux-based laptop a bit. It is a point & click linux version for linux wimps like myself. The specific version is linspire (http://www.linspire.com) 4.5. Most of the apps I could want are contained in the linspire "software warehouse", but I'm not having success with getting my Belkin wireless card to work with it.

Anybody have any experience with wireless cards and this version of Linux?

The card is FSD7011, version 1212.

I've got some older Linksys cards around too. Anyone have better luck with older versus newer cards or a particular brand of card?

There's directions on www.linspireguide.com/Wireless for using something called ndiswrapper on the (windows formatted) INF files to make Linspire recognize the card, but I did that, and I did not get my card recognized.
