Title explains it all. First time trip to LAS and don't want to drop more than $75/night. (4/8-4/12) My only requirement is to be on the strip. All three of these are showing about the same price. Any suggestion? Thanks

They are all pretty ratty. My vote would be the Sahara, mainly because of a monorail station is on property.

They aren't Bellagio. But rating according to preference:

1. Stratosphere
2. Sahara
3. Circus Circus

But just a reminder, you can spend $400 at Burger King in Las Vegas. ;)

I haven't stayed at the Sahara, but I've stayed at the Strat a couple of times. As noted, it's not Bellagio, but it's a serviceable hotel and I'd rate it ahead of Sahara and Circus-Circus. I'd consider renting a car to get around, though there's a bus that runs right up and down the strip.

You might want to see if you can do better from 4/9-4/12. Rates drop quite a bit Sun-Thurs., and you might be able to do better if you move after that first night. The Excalibur is showing $79.99 a night 4/9-4/12. It's a few dollars more than your budget and I would rate it about even with the Strat, but the location is a huge improvement. This is especially important for a first trip to LAS as you'll be doing a lot of walking if you want to see the sights.

The Stratosphere, and the Sahara for that matter, are so far off the main sights of the strip, that you haven't really gained anything in terms of location. Their only benefit is easy access to public transit to the center strip.

Stratosphere is several notches about the other two, location half a notch below.

Location wise, I think Circus Circus has a better location than the other 2 and closer to civilization. I stayed at Circus Circus in January and the rooms are decent for the price. Stratasphere is a hike....

Among the three, Circus Circus would be one to avoid. Last stayed at the Sahara and witnessed major improvements.

You should certainly shop around further. As the above poster stated Sun - Thurs rates at decent strip hotels should be available in your ball park without having to settle for any one of these three really undesirable choices! The Luxor shows a special for $89.00 per night 4/9-12 with a $35 food credit. I am sure there are more out there and its worth looking around! I would even suggest considering a move on the 9th to a better property if you have to go with these low-end choices for that first (sat) night.

Good Luck.
