I figured it was too early to try to book the "pay one night and get one free" at the Mandarin Oriental in NY for March, 2006 - but thought I'd give it a go. Just heard from CTS and was told that MO will not be offering that program in 2006. Asked if it was defininte and she said that they had not signed on for the program yet and it did not look good, but that there was a slim possibility things could change.
Dollar for dollar, this was the single benefit that totally justified the Centurion fee. Major loss.

I was told a couple of days ago by CTS in Japan that MO is offering this again in 2006, but with the exception of MO NY, which has opted out of the programme.

There is a second Mandarin Oriental Hotel which maybe can still be used, the Mark...which is also managed by Mandarion Oriental if I recall right.

German Centurion service told me the program is still on in 2006 with the mentioned exception of the MO at Columbus Circle in NY.
The rumour is true.... see post #12

NYC rates will be higher and higher and higher for 2006

I wouldn't call it a rumour - this is the official line of CTS, from my first hand experience in Japan, and shared by fellow FTers in Germany too.
Something posted in November and confirmed in December, in my book, is turning a rumour into truth.
