I had a chance to ride Vegas' new busses... brand-spanking new double-deckers that go up and down the Strip, from the Downtown Transp. Ctr. to South Strip Transp. Terminal. Looks like they imported them from England (just with the wheel on the correct side ;) )

Fun ride, especially up top. Good place for tourists to take pics too. It runs 24/7, every 15 minutes at night, 6 minutes in the day (though it seemed like one came every 15 seconds).

I decided to try it to LAS (I had time). I was thinking $2 to the SSTT and free transfer to the airport bus (#109 I think?). BUT, 12/1 they changed to having to pay per bus taken... but, there was a $5 24hr pass available.

It was pretty quick... early in the morning, so some wait time, but ignoring that it probably took about 45 minutes to get from mid-Strip to LAS. I would definintely take it again (but not when the Strip is packed, of course).

Try it next time you're in Vegas! Why walk when you can hop the bus for $5 all day??

I think you still need to connect from another bus from LAS before taking the deuce to stratosphere. Here is the deuce route info:

This would be correct. In my original post, you'll note that I said a connection to the airport bus, possibly #109, would be necessary. However, The Deuce does run the entire length of the Strip.

A note about the Strat. I stayed there 12/20-23 for about $25 a night. Found the rate on Expedia. They stick on $5 a night (rip off) for reaort fees.

The bus is convienant to/from the strat.

Have fun, maybe I will see you in Jan. ;)

I took it a couple weeks ago.

Pretty good, except the bill validator is slow and annoying. If there is a long line of people waiting to get on, the bus can move very slowly.

I actually rode for free because the bill validator broke and there wasn't a manual override or drop box for fares, so the driver just let all of the cash fare paying customers on for free.
