The ibishotel.com in Sweden has a very intresting campaign right now. Stay one night and pay what you think its worth. Yes you can actually stay one night and pay 1SEK if you like.

This offer is valid on 15 hotel in Sweden and must be booked directly with IBIS.

This offer is only valid between 5-14/10

Now the big question is if this is worth a sleeping run? IBIS seems to have a loyalty program which offers 10% of the price but in this case thats not worth much. Do you get airline miles or points somehwere else for sleeping at hotels in the IBIS/Accor hotel chain?

Stockholm has four hotel listed which means you can just sleep around between them.

The IBIS hotels in Holland did this as well, strangely enough most guests paid around the price the room should cost normally and some even paid more than normal http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanx for the info Scott C. I guess they are running this campaign through Europe then. The question remains though. Will you be able to earn any miles/points somewhere? If you do I will consider to fly down to Stockholm and book all four hotel in STO for the same night. I think I could survive with paying 4SEK http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

So far as I know, the only brand in the Accor group offering miles is Sofitel - partners with American and Air France at 500 miles per stay.

Until Libertel were absorbed into Accor, they gave 500 UA miles per night. No more.

Various Accor brands offer a free night after every 10 paid nights, or similar. (Now, let me see, 10 Ibis nights @ 1 SEK = 1 free night ... No, surely not ...)

Ibis hotels are horrible, so I would pay 1 SEK if I could.

I always had bad experiences with "low price" (?) Accor hotels like Ibis or Novotel.

My last try was the Novotel 52nd street / Broadway (an old and dirty room for $200 + taxes).

Sofitels are usually better, but even more expensive.

As hotels go in Europe, Ibis & Novotels are generally not bad, some are quite nice.

I have stayed at IBIS hotels in various parts of the world (at least Brazil, Australia, Portugal...) and would say that they were very good value for money. No luxury at those prices, but very clean and functional accomodation!

I agree with the previous two comments. IBIS is a budget hotel chain. I've stayed in their hotels in the U.K. and France. They do represent value for money.

I've stayed at a few Ibis in Europe (Paris & London) and have found them a great value. No frills, but as a budget traveler, it was a nice, clean, quiet, safe room at an afforable price. But if you're looking for luxury or plentiful amenities, look elsewhere.
