The availability is pretty hit-and-miss. More seats on midweek travel.

Pretty interesting promo/marketing decision.

I've flown Air Asia a number of times, and always enjoyed their service. The do have Draconian change policies, so I always recommend booking only one way trips, so that if you miss one flight the whole itin isn't dead.
There are some glitches in the system, though. I went through all the booking info for one of the free tickets, and after a long pause for credit card authorizing, it said the fare was no longer available, and only offered me a $40 plus fees ($56 total) for the one way flight.
However, I just checked my credit card, and see that they did authorize the 500 baht ($12.50) plus taxes/insurance for that flight. I went ahead and booked the free return flight ($15 fuel surcharge, plus taxes/fees $19.50 total), but won't try and rebook the outgoing for a day or so to see if it really got ticketed.

As I stated in the my previous post, after going to authorize the credit card, it came back and said that someone else had bought the ticket. Luckily, I used a credit card where I can see all charges made as soon as they go (Paypal), and could see that they had authorized two charges for each let.
This morning I got the emails that listed both "free" flights BKK-PNH. Cost was $15 and change for the BKK-PNH and $19.50 for the PNH-BKK portion. So I would be careful about rebooking if you get an error message.
