Just wanted to briefly share a priceline experience from my two weeks of travel in California and New York. Please note that the prices mentioned are excluding tax

Flew into SFO and was able to get the Doubletree SFO (3*) for 33$ incl. taxes, saving over 50 dollars of the cheapest available website rate. On our way to Los Angeles we stopped for the night in Bakersfield and stayed at La Quinta Inn (2*) for 34$ a decent saving and the same price that would have got us into a tired old motel with a little luck. In Los Angeles we stayed a night (weekend) at OMNI Los Angeles (4*) for 56$ a great 4 star hotel that had rates on their website around 120 usd. From LA we travelled on towards
Back in SFO we had luck getting Mariott SFO (3*) for 33$ and upon arriving in EWR got the Extended stay Elisabeth (1*) for 40$ on a week with prices even for this place going for 89$ a night. Tired of being out of manhatten? Yes a little bit, but the savings of at least 70 dollars per night, helps :) - and anyway a five minute walk from here there is a bus that goes into NYC for just 4,95 :)

I am a happy priceline customer, and not once on this trip was i treated any different from all the other customers in line.

Looking forward to my Mariott Courtyard in Amsterdam (schiphol) later this week for only 55$.

I used quite a few hours browsing www.betterbidding.com and www.biddingfortravel.com and this helped me quite a lot.

Please post your wins (if you haven't done so already) in betterbidding.com to help others, too! Yes, it takes time, but I motivate myself by thinking how much have I saved and feel obligated to give back a bit.

I wouldn't suggest to report at biddingfortravel.com unless you want to receive numerous "very important" messages about the precious a-b link ;)
