I did a search, but did not see this posted. Received this eMail last evening:

GREAT! I got three or four stays in BKK coming up :) If I can get spg.com working I'll probably find the rate a hell of a lot higher than my rate :(

Every time I try to enter a rate code like the BKK05 mentioned above in the promotion code field at spg.com, it invariably comes back with "We are sorry, but that promotion code is invalid. Please check the code and try again, or". I leave the field above it (Special Rate Plan) blank. Am I doing something wrong or do these so-called rate codes work only by calling? Help! :confused:

I have 2 nights booked 3 & 4 January. I am not sure if I would have to cancel and rebook..or if there is someway to change the existing res to include this promo?????

When I clicked on any of them, though, they came up with a promotional code of BKKSPO.

The eMail also said you could reserve by phone, saying

"To book these special rates online simply click the links above, or call Starwood reservations at: Thailand ++800-325-353535, Singapore 1-800-325-3535, Other countries 65-68367338"

And, even when I tried to reserve one, it came up with the same error message. I don't know what the problem is. Maybe Starwood Lurker could check?

Update...I called and got an outstanding agent. She checked and double checked and checked with her supervisor. The supervisor found the triple rate promo and they added it to my existing reservation. My confirmation says: Rate Plan: SPG EDM Q4. ("Splendid Get Away With Triple Starpoints")

The interesting thing is that they lowered the rate from $140. per night to $135. per night. I did not expect that as SPG.com is only offering $175. for those nights.

Anyway...it worked...or I now have some weird promotion. :eek: :D

Thanks -- with the links above I was able to rebook an existing stay at the SGS for Jan at $145 instead of $155 and with triple starpoints. Looking forward to my first visit to Thailand...

this time I only stay one night at SGS on 27th january!

I thought SGS offers a 135USD rate for Platinium members.... I may be mistaken....
