Asia - Overnight in Beijing -- Stay near the airport?

I'm flying in to Beijing, and then picking up a flight the next day to Xi'an. I've been to Beijing before, so I just want the most convenient place to stay. Is there anything in or near the airport? A Starwood property would be best, if possible.

this came up about 2 weeks ago.

in short: the lido (holiday inn) and rosedale (much cheaper than the lido, but still acceptable) are the two closest decent hotels to the airport.

however, the kempinski, hilton, rennaisance, kunlun, landmark, and SHERATON are pretty close as well yet have a strong locational advantage in my opinion.

I'd also recommend the Lido Holiday Inn. A lot of short stay travellers stop there, and it is a favourite for some of the international airlines crew as well.

On Moondog's advice, I stayed at the Rosedale about six months ago. It was nice. I think the rate is about $85 a night; you can book thru their website or just check their rates and look at a hotel picture. You can order a basic breakfast in their restaurant. (I left for my morning flight too early to try it.)

Rosedale is closer to the PEK airport than the nicer (and more expensive) hotels that Moondog mentioned.

With a corporate code, you can stay in most of the other places I mentioned for about the same price.

When I stayed the evening in the area I spent the night @ the Garden Hotel. They have a free van that takes you to/from the airport. Also, they have a booth in the airport as you exit the customs area.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I stayed at the Hotel Lido, and it worked out perfectly. It was a 10 minute or so ride from the airport, the hotel was comfortable and quite nice and I even ran into the crew of the United flight that I had taken in to Beijing.
