First, great website, I'm happy I found this!

Anyways, What is there to see in Vegas for under-21 people???

I think my family hates me or something, because They have a vacation for all five of us, and I am the youngest, at 20yrs old. Right now it's set up that we're going to vegas for 5 days!!! (Why, why, why didn't they wait another year?).

I've seen the Hoover Dam before, I've seen the West rim of the Grand Canyon, and I've walked through some of the casinos on the strip (and won 40 cents in the excalibur!). I've been to the Circus-Circus Adventuredome thing. The Fremont Street Experience was pretty cool...

What else is there to see?

Is Death Valley something cool to see? What about the South Rim of the Grand Canyon? We were thinking of taking a helicopter tour or something, but since there are 5 of us, and we have a rental car, I don’t really think it’s worth it, at 150+ per person (South rim and death valley are reasonable driving trips, right?).

Are there any indian reservation casinos in vegas or anywhere around there?

We’ll be there December 22-27, Still working on the hotels and that stuff.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

There are tons of activities in Vegas that don't include gambling. There is a ski resort at the top of Mount Charleston. If you don't ski you can go up for dinner. The restaurant there is very good and has several wild game dishes on the menu.

Or here are a few links to other activities. If you take a day to drive out to Death Valley be sure to see Scotty's Castle.

My family of 7 (age 31-68) are totally against gambling, but we are going to Vegas for the holiday (12/26-30). You might find us crazy, but I think it will be a great holiday. Good food, lots of people and activities.

Indoor skydiving (http://www.flyawayindoorskydiving.com/)

Go-Kart racing (http://www.lasvegaskarting.com/)

Or if you are science buff... area 51 (http://www.lovetoeatandtravel.com/Site/US/LasVegas/Fun/area51.htm) and atomic testing museum (http://www.ntshf.org/aboutatm.htm)

If you are going to spend money, why spend it on helicopter tour?! Spend your big buck on shows!!! :D We are going to watch blue man and "O". There are plenty more to choose from.

Have fun!

South rim is do-able, but a 5 hour trip each way.

They're adding a "skywalk bridge" over the edge of the canyon at the Hualapai GC West. Have their old west town and Indian village. Bridge opens early 2006 but could see what they have built so far. Looks pretty wild.

Another short day trip is Zion Canyon in S. Utah, <2 hours drive each way, and on the way you go through the Virgin River gorge just past Mesquite, NV.

Good list of free and paid attractions around Vegas is...

I enjoyed the Cowboy Trail Rides sunset dinner horseback ride at Red Rock. There's another one at Sagebrush Ranch, but haven't tried them yet. There are discount coupons for both, one at Vegas4Locals and the other at Destination Coupons. Both links and more coupons / discounts at this site.

Might also want to click on the More Vegas page from there. Has attractions links and other info.

Oh WOW, I guess it's not as bad as I thought :)

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I will for sure look into them, and appreciate all of them!

Has anyone seen Death Valley? I don't know much about it, and if there are some cool sights there.

Thanks again!

Death Valley is a full day in itself.

I suggest that you go on a helicopter ride to either tour the strip at night or to the Grand Canyon. I did this at night to see the strip and it was excellent. Check out http://www.papillon.com/ and look around for coupons because you can usually find a decent discount off of the normal rates.

I`m a little bit older now? But when growing up in Clark County under
age? There were "raves" going on for folks that were not legal age.
The raves though were usually announced about 3 hours before
they started. I don`t know if they call them "raves" anymore. But
they do have the "Underground Parties". If interested? Drop a reply
and we`ll go from there. These parties still pack em in & rock....

I second the Red Rock vote - not far at all from Vegas, just past Summerlin. There's also some non-21 activities available at the casino resorts, for example, all of the Cirque shows (save for Zumanity), the Star Trek Experience (at the Hilton), Shark Reef (at Mandalay), and of course the shopping areas. And of course, there's the great dining in Vegas.

Enjoy the trip out there.

If you're hard core on the atomic testing, actually go out to the atomic test site:

http://www.nv.doe.gov/nts/tours.htm

Note: extremely limited tour dates (8-10 per year), requires security clearance and signing up well in advance, and takes up an entire day

We scheduled an entire trip to LAS last year to make one of these tours and had a great time doing it, but it's not for everyone. I know it's not available for the time you're traveling, but I wanted to add this in case someone was searching in the future or you wanted to think about it for a future trip. Interestingly enough, you go through Areas 1 through 25 while touring the site, and "51" is just over a hill -- our tour guide pointed and made a joke about it.

Thanks everyone!!! IT has been very helpful so far, I'm finishing up a little "trip plan."

The one problem I'm having is the weather. I've heard it can snow pretty hard out by Death Valley & also by the Grand Canyon. I was thinking of staying in flagstaff, AZ when I visit the Grand Canyon, but I'm not exactly sure if the weather will cooperate..

I think Red Rock is all set, and Zion looks really cool...

Also, I found out there's an ESPN Zone Inside of New York-New York, which looks sweet. I don't think visit las vegas or go vegas or even vegas.com had it listed, from what I remember.

Thanks a lot everybody!!!!!

I've been to Zion and it's definitely a beautiful place. Would definitely recommend it if you're into the great outdoors.
