Las Vegas - Erie Trifecta in the Golden Nugget’s parking garage

Twice in 2004, cars plunged from the fourth floor of the GN’s parking structure by crashing thru the wall. Both resulted in fatalities. It happened again on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. This time the occupants had lady luck on their side; their SUV did not come crashing to earth – just dangled.

I think they would have tried to fix this problem after the first two incidents. I am sure that steel tension cables would not be too expensive to install.

Hello Everyone,
I am parking at the Golden Nugget garage and the hotel has security guards posted on each floor AND at each end of each floor!
I asked why where they there and they really didn't know. That could be because they really don't know or they don't want to say that cars have a tendency to crash through walls.
They will be there for another three weeks.

Shouldn't there be a security video of the incedent(s)? While it might not completely explain the cause, it would probably shed some light.

Helllo,
I saw security cameras near the elevators on each floor, but in the parking area. Also, I can see how the car went through the wall....the parking bumps are on the left of each stall and, to me, it looked as though the driver had parked on the end and drove straight ahead after rounding the bend. If the driver drove to the right side of the parking stall, it would have been really easy to miss the parking bump and plow straight in the concrete wall (it's only two or three feet) and on to the ground below.
And that's my story...
