Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - LAX lounge

My parents have a looong layover in LAX and I would like to purchase a day pass to a lounge for them. I have been in the Admirals Club lounge in LAX and don't find it all the comfortable. So, I was thinking about buying the day pass for the Alaskan Airlines BoardRoom lounge. Has anyone been in this lounge and would they recommend it over the Admirals Club?
thanks
Are they flying out of Terminal 3 that day? If not, they may have trouble boarding the airside bus between Terminal 4 (American) and Terminal 3 (Alaska). In my experience, nobody checks boarding passes for the bus at T3 and the American Eagle terminal, but security at T4 checks everyone both coming and going.
As to your question, I find the LAX Board Room to be an adequate place to pass time. It was remodeled within the last couple of years, offers free beer, wine and perhaps vodka and has free wireless. There is also a decent view of one of the runways. It's no SEA but it is much better than the unmaintained 60's nightmare downstairs. I've never been to the Admiral's club in T4 so I don't know how they compare.

I only visited when it was the AA AC and really liked it, so if they have remodeled it... ^
I agree with rjque. If you have to be in Terminal 3 for any length of time, the Board Room is a better alternative to seeing all of the "sights" downstairs. Getting over there, however, is going to be the issue if they're flying out of T4.

I was there last week and they did not have wireless. CSA said they were planning on getting it, but didn't have it. They did have a cords and ports for you to get free online access, but not wireless. It is a nice place to pass the time.

When flying Alaska, I find the Boardroom to be a haven from the rest of T3 downstairs. It is quite chaotic in the main terminal. If I didn't have a club membership, I would consider a day pass if I was in T3 for an extended period of time.
I like the view of the runway.
Couldn't help you if you need to come from another terminal.

The LAX BR is really nice. Yes, no wifi, but you can just hook up via ethernet. The sweetest staff.
Highly recommended!

Which airlines are your parents connecting on? How long is the actual layover?
