hi,

i'm planning to visit budapest late december.

i can fly with mileage into some major eruope cities like paris, frankfurt, etc.
and i need to fly into budapest from there.

what is the best way to get a cheaper inter-eruope ticket between for exampe paris - budapest ?

it costs over US$1000 for a round trip between paris and budapest if i arrage the ticket in japan. that is ridiculous!

my mileages allows me to fly to budapest via moscaw, but i don't want to
transit at moscaw.. (it must be cold, and i heard there is a high risk that
my baggages get lost.)

is there any online air ticket shop where i can buy cheaper inter-europe flight from japan ? or should i
just get into eruope and buy a ticket at the airport ?

somebody, please adivse..

Use http://www.whichbudget.com . You can use Wizzair (from Beauvais) or SkyEurope (from Orly, much more convenient) to get to Budapest. The price will be much cheaper than $1000.

hi yoko,

fly via moscow. buy a bottle of orginal Vodka Platinum in the duty free shop. depending on the connection time you dont have to leave the airport.

if you fly on miles, going to budapest wont cost more than going to FRA or CDG. its all europe.

for 20K miles you can fly within europe on staralliance.

and if you are planning to get your baggage lost you can count on the new rules (1200 Euro compensation) if you baggage get lost.

Yoko,

as for Moscow, I would just risk it - it will be cold all over Europe anyways, and baggage tend to get lost at other airports as well. Especially if Paris is your other option, I would strongly recommend Moscow.

FWIW, a Japanese friend of mine flew through Moscow on his way to Europe a few years ago (when he was a student). He was perfectly happy with the routing.

However, if you still want to fly to another city like (Paris, Frankfurt, etc.), do have a look at:

Would you consider carry-on only? If you don't have packages to deliver to people, or special medical or business needs, you can generally fit all of your necessities in the carry-on suitcase size allowed by most airlines. That would eliminate worry about losing luggage.
