Tickets are now widely available to Celine Dion in Las Vegas (even last minute) and I am wondering if it is worth going?
Anyone seen the show and can provide some feedback?
Any seating recommendations at the COLOSSEUM AT CAESARS PALACE? Thanks!

If your wife or lady would like to see it-go for her sake to see it once. That is the gentlemanly thing to do.

I'm not a Celine fan but I did enjoy the concert. Her singing and the dancers behind her made it a very nice show. The seats are generally all good, but as always, the closer to the middle the better. It is stadium seating so there should not be problems with anyone sitting in front of you unless someone has a big head :)

That makes two of us. My wife and I went in April of this year. This is a big budget, highly produced show and is very entertaining. It is well worth the price of admission.

I haven't been to Celine but I have seen Elton John there a couple of times. This may be the best place for a concert that there has ever been. I would imagine that all seats are very good (there are only about 4,100 seats) but I have also been near the stage.

I took my wife to a Celine Dion concert in Ottawa years ago, and I'm still in therapy. Who dresses that woman, anyway?
(BTW I do think some of her music is great, but she should quit trying to do rock. It doesn't work for her.)

I am not a Celine fan at all
But the G-friend wanted to go.
It was her B-Day. So I had no choice.
We went in April. Orch 4 Row LL. So about 12 rows center stage.
As posted earlier. This is a great venue.
Stadium seating. Good accoustics. One of the best places
to see a show of this type. Tickets are not cheap.
Face was $ 225.00 per Tix. Ouch.
You know what ? I enjoyed it. Not bad at all.
The overall visual, dancers, and production was very well done.
Her voice is something to experience live.
Overall a solid B+
Loved the Titanic song. Brings a tear to the eye.

I rather enjoyed seeing the Singing Twiglet.
She is worth it as the spectacle is superb, and I even knew a few of the songs.
You do, however, realise just how strange she is from her little banter in between the croaking!!!!

$225 is just the face value. Clark County has a 10% entertainment tax but associated Ticketmaster fees. EJ was $250.

Being a fan of Celine Dion, I loved the show. Best to be upfront as much as possible. Worth the $225/ticket.
But I could have done without the Frank Sinata songs she sang.
BTW, not only is EJ $250 for top seats, David Bowie has been $350 per show at Hard Rock. I would never pay $350 for David Bowie. The Bellagio "O" show - also good runs about $175-150.
Note: The Vegas prices are in line. Madonna charges ticket prices (at 50,000 seat stadiums of $90/150/300/750 for the seat ranges (and $1500 for on stage in the pit).

Madonna? Is that the English chic? Seriously, is she even around anymore? So very played out.

Her reunion tour last year was a sell out. In DC they had to add another show, even with the very high prices. I think most go for curiosity - for me, never again.

If I told my wife we were going to see Celine, she probably would ask if the package includes one of those quickie Nevada divorces.

Just resurrecting this thread rather than starting a new one...
Good friend coming to town and she is dying to see Celine.
Is there anyway to get discount tickets? Any sort of discounts for locals?
Thanks.

I think that the TeamCeline discount is just $5 per ticket but includes a specific group of seats within each seating category. It costs something like $25 to join the club.
I don't know of any locals discounts other than to buy in person from the box office rather than from Ticketmaster.
We went to see the show a couple Sundays ago. A good friend recommended that we see it despite our hesitations, and we wanted to see what all the fuss was about before her contract ended. (I believe that she's talked of ending the show next year.) It was good, but did not nearly meet our expectations. Someone else said that if your wife wants to go, take her. Worked for me. After the show was over, my wife said something like, "Next time I want to go to an expensive show that you're not so sure about, please tell me no."
We enjoyed the show, but it cost us more money than we thought it was worth and it was not as energetic as we had thought it would be. The dancers just weren't our style. The ads made it appear more exciting than it was. The fact that it was a Franco Dragone show misled us to expect something closer to Cirque from the dancers. (No, I'm not saying that we expected acrobatics.) Instead, the dancers mostly took on a ballet style. The video behind the stage was impressive at times, but many of the props floating across the stage seemed pointless or dull to me.
I like some of her music, but her personality and banter get on my nerves. That didn't change with this show.
Our tickets were close to the inside aisle in the rightmost section of the orchestra. They were almost sold out on the 1st Mezz, so they sold some of these corner orchestra seats for the 1st Mezz price. We were very pleased with these seats. I think that the upper balcony seats might be too high, but practically all other seats (even near the sides) should be very good. We bought our tickets at the box office just one or two days before the show, and that avoided the Ticketmaster fees.

I did see the show with last minute tickets. The first 5 songs were good, then the show topped out for me. I got lucky and was seated in the handicap area. I was able to lean back in their comfortable chairs, put my feet up and take a nice little nap.

I always use WeHaveSeats.com (http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-2052769-10378857)
Usually Good prices and have tickets actually available. I send them to cleints all the time from there so they are a good company to work with. I think last time the cheapest I got a Celine Ticket for was about 125 not to bad I dont think

Just saw the show June 11th as my mother treated my brother, husband, and me. Was fantastic and I am not a Celine fan. She was great and the dancers and stage effects were awesome. Had first mezzanine tickets in the center, which is the best bang for your buck, imho. Total through Ticketmaster including fees was around $500 for four with the base for the tickets around $75 each.

Total of $200 in fees? I know Ticketmaster is bad, but this doesn't seem right. I think that four 1st Mezz seats usually total to about $569 with all taxes and fees. The normal base price for 1st Mezz seats is $115.91. With the 10% entertainment tax, that comes up to $125 each. Ticketmaster then adds about $14 "convenience charge" per ticket. How convenient...

Just finished watching a Kathy Griffen TV special "My Life On the D List"- where she talked about her "Celine" experience
Is it true there are pianos floating overhead for no reason? Kathy made it sound like bizaare montage - calling it Cirque De Celine... ;-)

Went for anniversary, wife loved it, I thought it was, well tolerable. I paid $0 and had the best seats in the house courtesy of a close friend who is related to one of Celine's accountants and owed me a favor. Point is, for a free show it rocked, would I pay the going rate? Hells no.

Why take such a narrow view of the world? Should I never try anything new?
I'm not a "fan" of soccer but if someone gave me tickets to the world cup final game, I'm pretty sure I'd have a good time.

Just purchased 3 tix for a September show. Splurged for the front orchestra seats. With an AMEX gold card, I was able to purchase them via the amex website (which then links to ticketmaster's site) at a 25% discount off the base ticket price.
Here's the breakdown for the orchestra seats:
Ticket base price: 153.41 (204 w/o amex discount)
10% tax: 15.34 (20 w/o amex discount)
Ticketmaster 'convenience' fee: 17.00 (don't get me started! )
Ticketmaster 'order processing fee': 4.50
I think that the convenience fee was also higher if you buy the full-price ticket, I believe it's around 10% of the base+tax price.
Sadly, even if you phone the box office directly to book tickets, you still get slapped with the same ticketmaster fees.
The amex discount was a godsend, saving me $180 total for the 3 tickets. I was booking them on the phone w/ the box office, and told the agent I was using amex. He said something about earning reward points (which I didn't understand), and then I had gotten halfway through reading off my credit card number when it suddenly dawned on me that since he said they preferred the amex card, perhaps I could get a better deal through amex directly. I cancelled the order, went to the website, and luckily, managed to get the EXACT same seats, but at the discounted price! :)
So if you have an amex gold, book through their website for a substantial discount!
Oh, and Team Celine ($25 membership) gives about a $10 discount per ticket, and some 'reserved' (but first-come, first-served) seating areas in each price range. I thought about joining (before I learned of the amex discount), but found out that you have to wait 7 business days after joining before you can purchase tickets. Couldn't risk losing good seats during that period.

Also, about how long does it last?

If you know you cannot stand to listen to Celine Dion sing, then common sense should tell you not to go. If, on the other hand, you are neutral about her, then it should be a good show. Obviously, if you like her, you'll love it.
It's a rare show anymore to see someone of her calibur up close. And with this show, you also get a bit of the Cirque touch. It's not gymnasts flying around with Celine singing, but it has elements that you will see that remind you of that type of show.

I am not a Celine fan, but went to her show this weekend. My wife thoroughly enjoyed it, and I found myself mostly entertained though some elements struck me as goofy and rote (scripted "spontaneity," for example).
