The Radio Music Awards (http://www.nbc.com/Radio_Music_Awards/) will be broadcast live on NBC from the Aladdin Center for the Performing Arts on Monday, December 19, 2005.

Tickets went on sale through Ticketmaster without much notice this morning. Balcony seats are $65 + fees. Lower level seats for $150 - $350 are out of my budget for this event. Best balcony seats right now are center section row G.

If going, consider a $79 room at the Aladdin from their Special Offers page (http://specialoffers.starwoodhotels.com/aladdin_resort_and_casino/so.aqf?EM=SPG_HP_prim_SOP_SI_1514_SoCal) that includes a free pair of tickets to a show in the V Theater, 2 free spa passes, and a slot play coupon.

(The coupon for a free pair of V Theater tickets does not have to be redeemed during your stay.)

I'll be there on the 19th. I can't find a lot of info on this even. Are all those nominees actually going to be there?
How easy is it to get tickets from scalpers in Vegas? How about just showing up at the door.

Thanks

Don't think the $89 a night deal on Starwood's page is that good, go here and take the Aladdin's deals direct from their actual offerings: https://roomres.aladdincasino.com/CGI-BIN/LANSAWEB?PROCFUN+RN+RESNET+R15+FUNCPARMS+UP(A2560) :;SBLST;?

Depending on the night, you can get (I think) $59/night.

Correct. The $79 rate from the Special Offers page is only a better deal if you're actually interested in the V Theater tickets.

This rate only appears to beat the CEARLY rate on Dec 16-19, and the CEARLY rate is unavailable on Dec 18 and 19. NWsilverflyer, from where did you get this link??? (And do you have any such links for 2006?)

That's right, the "CEARLY" isn't available but the "SBLST" or whatever it is one that I linked to is. Not sure why the difference. Nope, haven't seen any for 2006 yet. Actually, just saw the link on another website and had bookmarked it as I was planning my own cheapo Dec. trip out to LV.

I've only been around the entrance to a show there once. It was a private ticketed event for a conference. I had tickets but wanted another ticket for a coworker. I just stood out in the hall by the entrance hoping to find someone selling an extra. Instead, I overheard a couple on their way in who were talking about their extra pair. I inquired about buying them. Instead, they gave me their extra pair of tickets on the condition that I find someone to use them both! No problem to find another acquaintance in a hurry to see Stevie Wonder! Great show!

I'm sure there are scalpers somewhere for regular concerts, but I don't know where they hang out. Maybe outside along the Strip or in the parking lot? I might be hunting for one at the MGM on this Tuesday night for the Billboard Music Awards, but I'm not so fond of the huge MGM Grand Arena. The affordable seats are way too far from the stage.

In other cities, I've had lots of luck getting just-released concert seats during the hour before showtime. The tickets usually aren't any cheaper (except no nasty Ticketmaster fees), but they're sometimes better seats than if I'd gotten them elsewhere. It's sometimes easier if you're looking for a single seat. Have only once bought from a scalper, and it was a below cost deal for a great single seat very shortly before the show started. (To my advantage, it wasn't a sold out show.)
