South - Drive to/ from New Orleans?

I need to get to a town called Marksville in Louisana from MSY. I am flying in and out of MSY because that is the only place close to Marksville that United fly.
How are the roads? How much time should I allow.

I'm guessing about three hours. I know it's an hour from NO to Baton Rouge but from there I'll guess a couple hours.
