Best at a slot I won was $1500.

Usually play table games though. Turned $100 into $1500 in a few hours of BJ.

2 weeks ago at Wynn.
At the sports book.
G-Friend put in $ 20.00 in a dollar machine at the bar.
Hit $ 1,000.00 Deuces Wild video poker. Got 4 Deuces !

I play table games.
Best was Royal Flush at Pai Gow with bonus. $ 5000.00
That was at Paris last year.

Several years ago. At Flamingo. Quarter slot progressive.
Watched the G-friend going from machine to machine.
Some older guy walked up to one of the machines she was playing.
He hit the progressive jackpot on the second pull.
Something like $ 280K She was sure pissed off that night.
The casino manager came down on that one. Took the guy.
Offered him a comp suite. They damn near took the machine apart
after the jackpot hit.

A dealer was telling me on story.

One night he was dealing Cabrianan Stud, the last player decided to sit out a hand. The dealer got a Royal Flush the hand he sat out on. If you're not familar with how that game is dealt, every player gets their 5 cards and the same time. In other words if that player was in, he would've gotten the Royal Flush. Jackpot was about $120k.

I once hit an 8000 coin jackpot on slots.

Sadly it was nickels, but it still added up. Tons of sirens and hoopla, armed guards, cash payouts. All for $400.

My namesake 6 times. When I first moved to the valley, 2 royals out of 3 hands on the same machine at the Excal, once at Tailspin’s (a bar near my office), twice at a gas station – on the same machine exactly one week apart and most recently in Louisiana – a natural royal of diamonds – I held all five cards (gee too bad it wasn’t on 10-play). And several big 4 Aces and a kick at Sunset Station.

Word from the wise – always play max coins – 2 years ago at Sam’s an 80 year old man hit megabucks – problem was he had 1 coin in. Ooops! Paid $5k versus something like $2.8 Million!

Hey, any jackpot is good! ^ Unless of course the max coins was not played (referring to RoyalFlush's post).

Straight flush at carribean poker. Won about 12.5 K. It was a king high. When I unfolded it, I though I did have the Royal until I saw the 9. I just got to vegas. Was down stairs waiting for my wife to get dressed for dinner. I was just playing the minimum. It was my third hand.

The IRS came to the table and took their withholdings in chips. They replayed the hand a few times to make sure it was right.

Biggest winning streak. First time I played craps. I started with $50 and walked away with about $3000. There was this lady who was on a streak that went on for over an hour.

I would work upto 4 numbers at full odds with 5$ chips.

I was mindlessly pulling away at a $1 Wheel of Fortune machine, waiting for my friend. It hit a non-matching combo (out of the corner of my eye), and started paying out. And paying out. And paying out.....

I had hit <Triple Diamond>-<7>-<Triple Diamond> = $900 ^

And then won $300 on penny Star Wars thingy about 15 minutes later.

The IRS came to the table? They don't normaly do that. Are you a US citizen? Did you have propper ID? Casino's very rarely withhold winnings.

Not that BIG, but I've won in the last year:

-1000 coins on the Wheel of Fortune (WoF) quarter machine waiting for a flight in LAS
-1000 coins on the WoF $1 machine waiting for a flight in RNO
-1000 coins on the WoF $.50 machine in Reno Harrahs

Of course, that's the only slot machine I "invest" in. ;)

(ETA: A few years ago I took up the Stratosphere free $100 slot play offer and won 1000 coins on the quarter Elvis machine -- that was the only time I've played that.)

AT the time I was a Mexican National with a Resident Alien Card. My step dad put up a fight. I said to let them take the money because I was going to owe them money at the end of the year anyway. The casino said it was SOP when a progressive pays out whether at carribean or a machine.

But they do not do it at the tables.

Later, Bellagio gave me a letter stating that I had lost more than I won through out the year, which I used when I filed my return to negate the winnings.

PS

The IRS handed me when they took the chips a WG2 showing the total winnings and how much they withheld at the table.

It really sucks that in the US they take a tax on lottery winnings. Since it is already a way for the government to raise revenue to come back and take their cut for taxes seems unfair. In other countries (Mexico, Spain) the lottery winnings are tax free.
