According to CX website, I am in a 773 in J. My question is whether this is New biz class seats or old as I experienced in HKG to PEK recently.
Also out of interest, what is the champagne being served in the J cabin at present. Thanks.

If your flight does not leave at 9:10 AM, you are in RBC. Whether it is NRBC or ORBC is a tossup, but neither is great shakes.

You'd have to be a little bit more specific as to the 'kind' of seats you want..
There's the 'old' regional Business Class seats. The blue fabric, non-electrical seats which are still around but on the regional 2-class 777-200s, some 777-300s and A330-300s.
Then there's the 'new' regional Business Class seats. These can be found on some 777-300s and A330-300s. No idea which one you'll get though they tend to be on some SIN, BKK, NRT flights.
The international fleet has the long haul Business Class flat seats. These are on all 747s, A340-300, A340-600 and 3 class A330-300s.
Champagne changes according to flight routes. But I think for J, it's mainly Deutz.

Once again, GB is right on the money... it's the staple Deutz Classic Brut....
CX also serves Deutz on this route in F, but it is the Cuvee William Vintage 1996.....
I flew this route in F on my birthday last week and got a bottle of the Cuvee William as a souvenir... The kaiseki meal and a birthday cake completed the experience.. :D ;)
If flying in J, I would take the two morning flights, CX 504 and/or the CX 450 one stop flight (in TPE) to get the new long haul seats......sometimes the 520 also has new seats when they use a 333....
Rule of thumb is if they offer a F service on the flight, it will be new business class (long haul seats).....it's still highly unpredictable with the new regional business class seats.....

Out of interest if I got the stopover flight in Tapei, do I have to get off the plane, ie what is the procedure?

It will depend on what the Taiwanese authorities want. They can change their minds anytime. So its a 50-50 chance if you get off or stay on.

It's 1 hour. I think it is all up to you to decide at TPE whether to stay onboard or to get off.
If you decide to get off, you can make a quick trip to the CX Lounger (OK F section) and visit the Duty Free shops....Tobacco prices are among the lowest in the world.....
