Hi,

I was voluntarily bumped from CX400 on Sunday afternoon to fly to TPE on BR. I did so on the understanding that my QFF account would still be credited with the mileage. The check-in CSE assured me that all I had to do was write to Asia Miles with the details and that the miles would be credited through.

Attempting to write to Asia Miles - I find that their website restricts email access to Asia Miles members only.

How do I get this sorted?

Thanks,

BD

I think "write" in this context perhaps means with a pen (if you are old enough to remember such things).

Asia Miles, PO Box 1024
Tsuen Wan Post Office, Hong Kong

Or by fax (if you remember those also): Hong Kong +852 2312 0883

Thanks christep,

Couldn't find the address on the Asia Miles website under "Contact Us".

I'm actually old enough to remember quills and ink-pots - pen and paper shouldn't be an issue!! :D

Hi

I think you should be writing to QFF and not Asiamiles since your flight is to be credited to QFF. Writing to asiamiles can only help if you're crediting to asiamiles.

Perhaps you can get a letter of some sort from CX Customer Relations explaining the fact that you have been bumped off a CX flight and put on a BR flight instead might help you with your frequent mileage cause.

GB is right of course - I don't see why you would want to write to AsiaMiles either.

Please excuse my ignorance.

My understanding was that it is up to the host carrier to ensure that any miles are credited to a passenger's home scheme.

Normally, if I flew with CX, I would log my QFF Number against the booking. It is then the responsibility of CX to ensure that the relevant miles are credited through to QF.

If I have misunderstood, then my apologies.

I'll go back over to my "Home Board" and ask if I should be chasing this with QF or CX. Regardless, if I need to subsequently chase with Asia Miles, I have their contact address.

Many thanks again,

BD

What you are misunderstanding is that CX and AsiaMiles are essentially separate entities. As GB says, I would start with CX Customer Relations and then go to QF. Essentially you are asking CX to pay QF's Frequent Flyer programme (instead of paying to AsiaMiles) for your flight.

You are indeed correct. My misunderstanding is based upon the QF experience - where I would address all correspondence to the QF Programme and not QANTAS themselves. Whatever happened to the seemless approach we were promised when OneWorld first came into existence?

Done.
