 I had been a global rewards member with Ansett Australia.
I collected these awards on many different airlines with the Star Alliance partnership when I was on a world trip. Can anyone tell me if I have lost these now or can I get them transffered to another star alliance partner?

Well and truly lost, I'm afraid. :(

Welcome to FT Tracy T :)

Ansett Australia is long gone, and the points are worthless.

previous NZ management were the last in a long line of factors which lead AN to cease operating - kind of like the pilot getting the blame because he/she is the last in a chain of 15 events - in AN cases some factors which had resulted in their entering a long slow death spiral included :

loss of feed from QF after Australian Govt subsidised QFs takeover of TN to the tune of AUD700 million , inefficient fleet , inefficient work practices , absence of yield management (apparently AN did not know on any given route whether they were making money , breaking even , or losing it !) , overpaid staff (relative to QF ) , Australian Govt decision to allow another carrier into previously duopoly routes ( DJ on it's own would have eventually taken AN down with costs about 1/3 of the dinosaurs ) , New Zealand's Minister of Finance idiotic decision to prevent SQ raising it's stake in NZ/AN to 49% (for which SQ must still be thanking it's lucky stars ) the maintenance fiasco ( which was actually uncovered by NZ ) , Sept 11 .

However , all that being said it is probably fair to say that AN might have dragged on for a few more months without some of the idiot decisions made by the previous NZ management .

It could be worth as much as a piece of your bog paper if you still have the statement.

I did follow it very closely at the time, and I agree with all of the above, and would add that the price that was paid was far too high, but I have often wondered why more wasn't highlighted in New Zealand about the completely inept handling of the situation by the NZ government, particularly the SQ proposal.
