Was told that the 15kg baggage allowance for MP Gold is only good within Asia and not for a Transpac to and from HKG-SFO? Has this change? Any insights appreciated - TIA!

Transpac baggage allowances are based on the piece system, not weight. Diamond and Gold get one extra piece on trans-pacific flights.
The 15kg extra (20kg for Diamond) is on all itineraries not including North America.
