It's been a few years since I stayed there and it was just ok. Clean, but basic rooms. Maybe they updated since I've been there last. I usually stay on the Strip...Depending which tower you're in, you should ask for a higher floor. If you're the tower next to the "Fremont Street Experience" on the lower/middle floors, it can be loud since it runs every hour for about 10-15 minutes.
Magnolia's restaurant general has decent prime rib for the price...If you have a car, do valet. It's well worth a tip, the parking garage there is pretty old and shabby.

Just returned from a short weekend trip at the Four Queens. I've stayed here once before a few years ago, and things were about the same as I'd remembered. In fact, I've stayed all over Downtown Las Vegas (California, LV Club, Four Queens, Lady Luck) and they are all about the same - no frills, 70's era decor, reasonably clean and not too expensive. If you have a car, the South Tower is closer to the garage and the lobby. The North Tower elevators are right off the Fremont Street entrance.
Four Queens is installing wireless internet access in their rooms in December, so that's a plus.

I stayed at the 4 Queens in May. It reminded me of a Motel 6. Not bad for the price, though. They usually have a $2 blackjack table in the casino, too.
