Australia, New Zealand & the South Pacific - Location used in Anthony Bourdain's NO RESERVATIONS in New Zealand episode?

We watched the New Zealand episode this week.

Does anyone know where they rode the 4 wheelers on the beach and went to the BBQ? It looked very pretty. But knowing it is in the northland isn't very specific :( Is that something that you could arrange to do while visiting?

Do you have a link to pictures or any blurb describing? I can think of several places in Northland where it should be possible to hire 4 wheel bikes and have a bbq.

(Most likely it will be 90 mile beach as that is a legal road and thus no problems driving across the sand - whereas in most other places riding bikes through sand dunes will get you into trouble for damaging the environment.)

Sorry -- don't have a blurb :( Hoped someone else besides me watched that show ;) I think you are right -- it is probably 90 Mile Beach. My brief internet research showed you could rent 4WD's, but nothing about excursions, BBQs, etc. :rolleyes:
