All Nippon Airways Mileage Club - PY seat with a NH Economy ticket purchased with NH miles?

If I purchased an economy class ticket with miles between JFK and NRT, would I be able to reserve a seat in Premium Economy? My thoughts are that I should be able to, but was wondering your thoughts.

PY a perk for NH Elites ONLY providing that there are still seats available on the day of departure. First-come, first-served basis.

Either: You buy a ticket in Normal Y class (booking class has to be Y)

or

You hold DIA or PLT status, and standby for a PY seat on the day.

There is no other official way of access, except when you are "upgraded" for operational reasons such as heavy booking, or if you somehow get lucky with a kind agent.

Very slightly off topic:

Do any of the NH*Gs here experience difficulty in getting the stand-by upgrade on LHR-NRT, CDG-NRT, IAD-NRT routes? Everytime I've been on the LHR-NRT route PY seems to be full. Is this because the NH*Gs have taken them or a lot of pax buy Y/B fares...?

The above three routes are flights I plan to take next year when I get Platinum in december!

I myself am not NH*G but from what I hear, you need to be at the airport really early in the morning, because some passengers check in at another airport (and stand by for PY) to connect via the gateway...

No PY on IAD-NRT yet. FWIW, not that many elite NH pax fly IAD-NRT in Y - maybe at most, 5-6 every time I fly (you can tell by seeing how many pax the purser personally greets)
