Just saw the leaked ad for their notebook. It is an HP "ze2300wm" AMD chip 1.8GHz, 256Mb memory, 15" display, 40Gb harddisk, CDRW/DVD rom and 801.11a/g wireless. A really good looking machine for an insanely low price. No rebates or anything; just $399 out the store.
They will also be selling a $399 desktop with 512Mb memory and a 15" LCD panel...
Walmart is about to create a war in the PC industry...
I also saw the Compusa Ad's for black friday; Compusa is absolutely worthless. All their good deals require you to sign up for a year of AOL. They have a nice Compaq notebook for just $250 but you still pay almost $800 in the store. Waiting on $550 on rebates from Compusa AND having to commit to AOL for that long just isn't a deal. Every single deal on their flyer requires a rebate. If they keep this up they won't be in business much longer.
