Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - CX118 Eco Seats are not that great.

I just arrived in Hong Kong on CX118 from AKL, the seats are shocking!!! So small..... I feel really sick after that flight, coz I hardly get any sleep during the trip.

I asked the check-in staff in AKL if I can upgrade to business class, she said yes, but I have to pay an extra NZD1625 for an one way business class to HKG. My ticket costs me NZD2200 return from AKL-London..... lol..... Business class is amazing for those of you have said before. That's called how much you've paid is how much you will get. Fair enough.

I think Cathay's seats are OK for me. The one you flown should be A340-300, and I sometimes fly A340 Y class for long haul and do not think they are very small... Of course, if you can fly on J seat, you get a lot more room. <And I do not mind to get F seat either.. :) >

Are anyone's economy seats much bigger? In terms of width I'm pretty sure that all airlines are about the same. Although leg room wise I do know that Air NZ has a good pitch compared to most other airlines. And they have done the right thing and kep that pitch for their refurb.

CX/SQ/BA/QF have almost the same seat pitch in economy. For extra legroom, you'd need to book the emergency exit seats.

But NZ, TG & MH offer slightly better seat pitch (34" vs 31-32" above).

Emergency seats? I tried, it didn't work. ( all emergency seats were blocked for the online checkin)

They are blocked more for Marco Polo Elite members than online check in. We can ring MPC and they will unblock the seat for you, except the baby broad seats.

I'm a green member only, I called them before I depart, however, they told me that they can't do anything about the seating, only checkin counter can do it.
