The ARN lounge also has a table with 'Värdecheck' 10$ coupons (valid till 02/2006) lying around. A cardboard box behind the table has 'Free access for 1 flight' cards by cbb which are valid till July 2006.

Needles to say I have stocked up on plenty of freebies the last time I was there on Nov 1. ^

They were giving out free access vouchers at the SK945 gate at ARN last Thursday.

Result: The service was super slow and the accesspoint kept kicking me off every 2 minutes. I walked through the cabin and counted the number of people with their computers on: 22!!

On my return flight, it was better, but the connection was very slow and I got kicked off at least 10 times.

Maybe its that particular A330, but if I was a Connexion subscriber, I would not be a very happy camper after those two flights.. :td: :td: :td:

O:

I already had 2 of the free 1 flight cards from the week before when they were handing them out on the SHA route and had some friends traveling without laptop. Then happy to talk to a "technical" person with Connection by Boeing at the EBG lounge who gave me 2 additional for my rt ORD and could finally answer some of the problems I had been having unlike onboard crew.

They were fairly restrictive with these and giving out them only to PAX with laptop at gate security check. They were more liberal in handing them out in the lounge. I am only glad they have not put a only for new users claus on them as they are valid until July 2006 and log-on was posible only with email adress and code. The $10 off offer was generated to the email used only 2 days following usage.

Unilike Tommy777 I have been thrown off from Connection by Boeing onboard only 1 time out of the 12 times I have used it this past year. I would estimate that I have logged around 60 hours connected in the air and have been extremely satisfied. I would say at least that it has far exceeded my expectations as I expected many problems with service. I worked over 6 hours on 945 this week with high-speed and several pages open at same time and using streaming media.

My problem has been with the electical outlets and finally the Connection by Boeing guy told me of the problem with a short in the seats onboard. He suggested I dim my screen and take out my battery to prevent constant re-charging. He was the first to know what he was talking about and it worked perfect for the entire flight but had to use outlet of free seat next to me for power.

I have only traveled C this year so do not know if the connection is weaker behind row 9. Did notice that another C PAX moved up to join me in row 1 for half the flight and that he had some discussion with FA about electical outlet.

My problem has been with the electical outlets...

Same here. my laptop (HP) needs 90W and the inseat power on the SK buses is imited to 70W. I have tried to dim the screen and remove the battery - does not help. :td:

My new laptop is HP and I had to use the adapter provided by SK to get it to work. Same result on my June NRT... CPH-NRT no adapters onboard...did not work.. NRT-CPH w/ SK adapter worked. Adapter purchased in Tokyo did not work. The "tech" guy from Connection by Boeing said the adapters sold in ARN duty free do not work as well. I am solving my problem in US this week buying upgraded 12 cell battery. The new seats in 2006 should solve this problem as well.

On the trains in Sweden power outlets are great, but Internet service kind of troublesome.
On the SK buses Internet works great, but the power outlets are underfused.
:D
those techguys... always something...

The SK persons had left the lounge when I got there, but left a bunch of cards on the table (about 20), grabbed 15 of them - the (outsourced) receptionist said it was OK. I even asked her if they had more and she went to look backstage but said they were finished. ^

I usually run my computer on battery power and then turn it off a while and charge it. When charging without having the computer turned on, it uses less than 70W.

These appear to be targeted mails. My codes differ from those posted here. I have received several mails to different e-mail accounts with the last 2 numbers switched out. They even sent me 2 misstaken promotion code messages where when correcting the codes they traded out the last 2 numbers in the corrected mails.

I am often in the back, but i recently got a Sony Vaio TX series laptop... On CPH-EWR last week, I got 5.5 hours battery life :)

Who needs power with that kind of battery?"

Connection has been great.. they also have a special deal right now for free access when you have an iPass acount.. perfect for me!

I bought the 12cell for my HP and now have amazing battery life as well. I am at 6 hours remaining with 93% so I guess that is over 6.5 hours and when add the 2.5 hours of the old battery and that gets me through the awake time of almost any flight as well now. Guess the new seats should solve the problem as well.

I got a mail from SAS yesterday saying that they would offer live TV through SAS Net Access. Ironically though I deleted the mail and couldn't find the press release on the site.. It was mostly news channel like i.e BBC and the likes..

The pressrelease also said that Connexion was slashing the prices a bit for the service. The new cost for a whole flight is $26.95 instead of $29.95 and you now get an hour for $9.95..

I'm sure some of you have more info about this?!

it's cheaper than using wifi at an airport for 1 hour from what i noticed!

that's kind of incredible, how can it be cheaper to connect at 30000 feets over the sea level, over the ocean, on a jet flying at 800 km/hour, with important security constraints due to interferences etc...

... than to connect in CPH, where a very high data rate optic fiber arrives at a few meters from your seat! another proof that wifi charges at most airport are just a incredible rip off!

How bad is the WiFi at CPH??? I guess the Danish mentality of "betal og vær glad" continues.

In the US you can get 24 hours for $7.95 to $10 (T-mobile).

I like airports like DAY and PIT that have free wireless. I also think it's pathetic that the SK lounges team up with Telia who doesn't offer instant online purchase or reasonable options for short term use.

I there a valid xx% off code? I'm travelling Thursday to PVG and I'm not sure whether my 'free net access trial'-code which I received end of september 2005 from SAS UK is still valid.

WiFi in CPH is ok, but way too expensive. I just came home from SJO (San Jose, Costa Rica), and even there it is for free at the airport (and even at my tourist class hotel!)

I also agree, that the Telia-deal in SK lounges sucks.

We want internet for free! And SK (and other quality airlines) would win it all back in loyalty, and so would airports!
