Just upgraded to 10.4 from 10.3 yesterday. Upgrade worked like a charm, everything's cool, I like it. Lost a few minor things on the way, like the login settings for my work VPN and a couple of printer drivers, but nothing that won't be easy to reinstall in a minute or two.

And now I have Dashboard. It came with four widgets: calculator, calendar, clock, and weather. Nice as far as it goes, but there's more. I went to apple.com, but the list is daunting. So: what widgets do other Tiger users here use, like, and/or recommend? (Travel-related widgets would be especially appropriate.)

The flight tracker might be useful. Also the unit converter. Both come with Tiger, so you don't have to download them (in case it matters). Just press F12 to see the Dashboard and then the "+" button on the lower-left corner of the dashboard. Then you can see all available widgets.

Looks like there are close to 1000 widgets available for download here:

Went there. That's exactly what I meant by "daunting!" :)

And thanks to Andre1970. I hadn't noticed that plus sign - what comes from just firing it up without reading anything, I guess. Someday I'll read up on what all the cool new stuff does, maybe on tomorrow's flight. Meanwhile, I activated Flight Tracker - fun! - and checked out a couple of the others.

Any idea how to add different currencies to the converter?? I'd like to stick Indo Rupiah and a few others I use on it.

I am just starting to look at all the widgets out there - has to be some useful stuff, just takes so much time to try them all out

My favorites:

------Widgets included with Tiger--------
Flight Tracker - input airline and flight number, and it will show you it's current location, speed, and altitude. Pretty cool!!

Unit Converter - convert many things from one form to another, even currency.

World Clock - I open up multiple clocks so I can easily know the time in different office locations. The clock face shows white if it's currently daytime in the location you have specified.

Weather - pulls weather data from accuweather.com. You can pull up weather info for most large cities in the world.

Stickies - type reminders for different things throughout the day.

------Widgets not included with Tiger--------
Flight on Time (http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/travel/flightontime.html) - Easily see if you or a colleague's flight is on time.

Temperature Monitor (http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/status/temperaturemonitorwidgetedition.html) - Quickly see if my Powerbook is getting too hot.
