Hi Everyone,
I'm considering starting up a new Internet portal (web site) specifically designed for travelers, especially frequent travelers. The idea would be that it is a one-stop-shop kind of a site where you could get all the things that are important to you while you are on the road.
Initially, I am thinking of desigining it specifically with FlyerTalkers in mind. The site would list free (and pay-for-use) wireless hotspots in airports, business hotels, restaurants, cafes, etc. and allow all of its users to add sites as they came across them. It would also list locations of executive/airline clubs, recommendations for areas in airports to hang out if you aren't a member of a club. Information of use when outside of an airport, like public transport connections/recommendations, etc. It could be a place for you to store all of your itineraries/confirmation numbers, etc. so that they're handy wherever you are.
I can go on about things I'd like to see on such a web site, but I think you all get the idea of what I'm talking about. However, I am but one lone traveler. Here, I have the eyes of thousands of FlyerTalkers, so I am asking for your input. What would you envision such a site to contain? What could it do that you can't find anywhere else? What things do you like from other web sites that you wish could be improved upon, or collected in one easy to use location? If you had 5-10 minutes between connecting flights and you could only visit one web site, what kinds of things would it contain to make the most of that short amount of time?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions! I hope to get some great ideas from all of you and develop some of my own into something really useful to the FlyerTalk community (and beyond).
