Check it out ^ i know i-sawan is the newest hotel spa in bangkok. however i won't be staying at the gh erawan this time. most likely i'll be staying at the oriental. chacker Nov 2, 05, 6:15 am You won't go wrong with the Oriental. I've only had the opportunity to stay there once (when someone else was paying - it's a bit out of my price range personally!) but I did indulge in the Spa amongst other things. The service is impeccable. If I had to comment on the difference between the Oriental spa vs (what I've heard about the new spa @ the Shangri-La) I'd say that the Oriental is somewhat more "traditional" with their offerings and service. I imagine the prices are very similar as well - though as with most things, the Oriental may be slightly higher because of all the awards they've garnered over the years (well deserved, I might add) francophile Nov 2, 05, 12:26 pm You won't go wrong with the Oriental. The Chi spa at the SL is less expensive. I have had services at both the MO and SL. Both offer excellent service. The spa at the SL feels like a monastery. It's quite dark inside. For some, that might have a calming effect. For me personally, I prefer the a spa enviroment with a bit of sunlight. hkguy Nov 9, 05, 6:20 am http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=442396&highlight=spa The spa at the Oriental is wonderful.
