Lately I have flown Swiss and have been treated very nasty at the counter in JFK and in Munich.

In Munich I was told that my "AA ONE WORLD EMERALD EXEC PLATINUM" status would not get me into the Lounge by the woman at the First Class counter. She would not even tell me where the lounge was and yelled at me saying I couldnt use it.

I later asked someone else and was shown the lounge and let right in with my EXEC PLAT card.

Is it the case that I did not have the right to use the lounge?

And at JFK, not 1 hour ago, I was denied using the First Class line and told that although they are a ONE WORLD airline, I had to use the Coach Line. I refused and they ticked me (and now I am in the Lounge, I wouldnt even dare to ask that woman if I had access).

Does Swiss treat everyone like this?

Welcome to FT!!

Swiss is in fact, NOT a OW partner. With their new alliance w/ Lufthansa they would probably be more likely to join *A if they do decide to join an alliance.

This may be the reason why you were denied access.

You were able to use the SWISS lounge in MUC? I wasn't able to because the SWISS agents said that it was a shared lounge. If it's the same lounge I'm thinking of BA also uses the lounge.

As far as my experience using the Swiss lounge in Zurich, I've had nothing but good experiences.

Swiss is not a oneworld airline, and the partnership with AA will end next year. In summer 2006, Swiss will join Star Alliance.

And you won't be able to use a number of SWISS lounges in other places - even if STG/STC and even if LX aircraft fly there - unless you are flying with SWISS.

LX used to use a contract lounge in MUC while still at T1. Since Oct 30, the have moved to T2 in Munich and share the LH facilities there.
