Hi all,

I know that this topic has been discussed a 100 times before but I just need some clearification on this as i have read contradicting threads.

I will be flying on NZ and am booked on the following booking classes.
Q....V....V.....Q

I checked on TG's website and there is no referance to NZ's milage earning fares? Does that mean that all fares purchased on them qualify for miles. Will be earning close to 20,000 miles from this trip so wanna make sure that i earn them. Would rather pay more and earn the miles if Q & V don not earn miles on ROP.

Thanks for the help. ^

Some info from AirNZ thread on booking code/classes:

V is usually a highly discounted fare, so you should check with TG (AirNZ doesn't feature on thier web-site page with partner earning rates)

I'm fairly certain that V is the class that NZ use for not granting AirPoints on their own (or any other) airline

SO who should i confirm this with? TG or NZ?

By the way ..... the fare isn't a cheap one! It's quite expensive and I just booked up to travel in christmas season so i am sure that none of the cheaper fares would have been available! I am paying close to $900 for getting from DEL to AKL and back!

I recommend you check with TG - that's where you want the points to go presumably.

It's not a question of the FF program to which the points will accrue - the question is whether the airline with whom he is flying will give FF points to any program including their own for that class of fare. By the way - $900 DEL-AKL return - expensive? At Christmas time?

Contact Air NZ - they are the only ones who can set you straight

RTWFF. I still think it important for the OP to check with TG ROP (as well as NZ Airpoints). For example, TG will only accrue 70% of miles on some NH fare codes, but which the NH FFP gives 100% miles. In this case, the 'receiver' FFP also has a say...

Spoke with TG and both of the booking classes that i am booked on will qualify. Roll on another 2 years of TG gold thanks to this trip. Only 13k miles to go now :)

Good news, just be aware that NZ will only give TG 'actual miles', ie no 500 mile minimum. I encountered this with the short internal NZ sectors CHC-WLG and WLG-AKL. Thai email read:

"Please be informed the Mileage earnd in each class of service with THAI, Star Alliance
and partner airlines as follows;

Economy class : 100% of the actual miles flown.
Business class : 125% of the actual miles flown.
First Class : 150% of the actual miles flown.

However,500 miles minimun will be credited for the flight less than 500 miles on THAI
operated. Certain booking class codes, designated routes or flights of less than 500 miles
with Star Alliance airlines may result in reduce or no mileage accual.

Thank you for your inquiry. We do hope to serve you in the near future."
