Sorry for the post but after doing alot of searching, I am most confused. Could a veteran please recommend seating in biz class for Mrs. Mikey and myself on NZ5 for the 16th of Jan 2006. Never have been on a 747, or will it be a new retro by then? Thanks so much
Mike

NZ5 is scheduled to be operated by a non-refitted 747 (74E) on Jan 16.

I'm scheduled to fly NZ5 on December 10th. I called ANZ and they told me they didn't know which configuration would be used. The ANZ website doesn't show a seating chart for this flight and the reservation agent couldn't give me a seat assignement. Any ideas on what I might expect on Dec 10th?
Thanks
Mike

Reason,
As luck would have it I called for seat assignment for Mrs mikey and myself, I was told it was a newly retrofitted 747 and was given seats 18a,19A. She said the seats were at 45 angle. During my searches I saw this configuration.
I am now just as confused, In the end I'll be happy going to NZ for three weeks and whatever plane lands with us in it, hopefully, will be wheels down. :)

 I also called as soon as I saw that 'non-refitted' comment for this flt on this date, apparently abt an hr later than you. I was told after a lot of hmms&hoos + discussion w/ super that 'no' flt 5 would NOT be a 74R & that flt 1 'probably' would. SFO here I come. . .

Interesting. The schedule shows 74E, but the seat map does indeed show a refit seat config. There's also a "U" fare bucket indicating they are selling premium economy for this service.
