Hilton HHonors - Best Place To Stay in Dallas/Lewisville Texas?

I'll be visiting Lewisville several times in the next few months. I did a search for Lewisville in this forum and found a reference to the HI at Lewisville, which classified it as a "doghouse".
Can anyone recommend a nice place to stay? I don't mind driving a few miles each day for the right property.
Thanks in advance!

There is a Homewood Suites that is in a location very convenient to restaurants, shopping, mall, etc. A coworker of mine stayed there for many months and found it to be an average HS.
Hope this helps.

How about the Embassy north of DFW or the Hilton there. You would be say 15 mins to lewisville. Both are located right at grapevine mills mall.

I second the Hilton DFW Lakes -- a little further from Lewisville than the others, but probably the best Hilton hotel in the Dallas area... ^

Yeah, the Hilton is nice, but 121 also sports some of the worst traffic in the metroplex.

Just wanted to second that reference - the door to my room looked like it had been kicked in more than once. It only got worse once I was inside. Needed that stay credit though.

I third the Hilton DFW Lakes; my family really enjoys this place on those get-away weekends...indoor heated pool / hot tub / workout complex is huge and they appreciate elite levels (free breakfast for gold, etc)
Further, as mentioned above, nearby Grapevine Mills mall is within walking distance, and even close is the huge outdoor reseller Bass Pro Shops, so plenty to do after hours.
Similarly, the Embassy Suites is actually physically attached to this Bass Pro Shops and is closer yet again to the mall, but I find rates at the ES to consistently be higher than the Hilton.
Really can't go wrong w/ either of these two properties.

I second what cowtowner said earlier... my husband and I used to live in one of the apartment complexes about a mile away, just north of the mall. It sits at the intersection of three major highways (TX-121, TX-114, I-635) and traffic in any direction on any highway is horrible during rush hour. SR-121 is the worst, because it has traffic lights on it to further snarle traffic... and that just happens to be the road to Lewisville.
I would leave at least 30 mins to get to Lewisville from the Hilton DFW Lakes during rush hour.
On the plus side, there is a nice walking trail that goes from the north side of the mall around to the front of the Silver Lakes apartment complex. Also, if you drive down TX-26 and take a right on Fairway Drive, you can go along Lake Grapevine. There's a great picnic spot out there, at Rockledge Park.

Do the comments here refer to Homewood Suites by HiltonŽ Dallas-Grapevine, TX, or Homewood Suites by HiltonŽ Dallas-Lewisville?
Hilton DFW Lakes is way out of my price range for this trip so I will have to pick something else.
Stay is for one night only. I am Diamond. My meeting is in Lewisville.
Best recommendation? I value good room, Diamond treatment/upgrade, quiet, near restaurants/Starbucks.
This is my first time there -- or Texas for that matter.
Thanks!

I would recommend the Lewisville location. There are several places to eat within walking distance and a Starbucks right across the street. As for the property itself, it's a typical Homewood Suites. No special treatment for Diamonds that I experienced.
Have a good trip.

I live very close to this location and its in a good spot save for rush hour.
For future travelers who search for this, we are getting a Hilton Garden Inn in Lewisville... it will be on 121 between I-35 and MacArthur and the last I heard, it was scheduled to open in July. That will be where we start putting company folks up when they are visiting.
