Depart 10/31 - 11/03, return 11/05-11/08. $464 + $70 fees/taxes. Not bad for this route, and it looks like you can route via LAX or HNL if desired.

If that doesn't work, I believe AA is currently running SJC-NRT-SJC for $525+ with more flexible dates.

Just a question for the veterans...

This would actually make a good MR for us folks living on the east coast... Nevertheless, I do not have a Japenese visa (I am not holding a U.S. passport either... :(). So is it possible to do the run without having a visa? I know this question right now does not make sense because it requires a stay for a couple of nights but I believe that a no-minimum stay fare would probably come out at some point in the beginning of next year, if the sales is not as nice as projected.

So, question again: can someone just spend a night or just have a short turnaround without getting through immigration or is it not possible for NRT?

Thanks in advance.

For U.S. citizens and nationals of other countries which have Reciprocal Visa Exemption Arrangements with Japan: You do not need to obtain a visa if you wish to enter Japan for a period of 90 days or less for the following purposes: Non-remunerative activities such as sightseeing, recreation, amateur sports, visiting relatives, taking inspection tours, participating in lectures or meetings, attending conferences, making business contacts or other similar activities. In order to enter Japan without a visa, you are required to present a confirmed round trip airline ticket to the immigration officer upon arrival in Japan. However, a visa is required if you intend to be a long term resident, a student, a news reporter or if you intend to engage in cultural activities for remuneration.
