So Gang, i must confess. I have NEVER stayed at a hilton property. I've always been a starwood fan and now that work has me living in Fort Worth, i am a Marriot Convert.
With that said... my partner, just won two free nights at any Hilton property, any brand, in North America. The catch... we have to use it before year's end.
Are there any properties that are just absolutely worth the visit?
We live in Boston and we'd probably fly AA to wherever we are going. We were thinking maybe turn this into a new year's jaunt, not afraid of the cold... but warm would be cool too.
Much thanks in advance and if you are ever looking for any starwood or marriot advice... please drop me a buzz whenever.

Come on.....every adult American has stayed in some Hilton, somewhere, sometime.
This is quite an award. It all turns on what you like to do. If you want to ski Valdoro in Breckenridge is great, as is The Waldorf Towers in NYC, as is the resort in Miami, as is the Embassy in Napa, Niagra Falls, at least two of the properties in San Diego. I think you will just miss the resort at Whistler BC becoming a Hilton but it would be worth checking on. Comeback with what you want to DO and I'll bet the folks on here can steer you right. (Is the Caribbean included in NA?)

Here's another vote for the Waldorf Towers.
If you like the area, for skiing, sightseeing and/or gambling, the Embassy Suites in South Lake Tahoe (not the Embassy resort) is a very nice property in a fabulous location, right adjacent to the lift at Heavenly Valley.

Search for threads on Hiltons in Phoenix and Scottsdale. Some have excellent reputations. We're coming on to the time of year when it's nice to enjoy desert warmth.
You'll get a better response if you make your title more descriptive. Consider changing it to "What are the best Hiltons in North America?" One of the Hilton mods would need to make the change for you, just report your own post if you decide you want to do this and ask for the change.
Also, take a look at the sticky at the top where Kiwi Flyer has done an exhaustive index of the threads on various hotels. It's really quite amazing.

Hi,
I like the Pointe Hiltons in PHX ( Tapatio cliffs and Squaw Peak)
It is probably a bit too far to travel just for two days but how about Hawaii ( The Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu or the Waikoloa Village on the Big Island ( beautiful resort).
The Montreal Bonaventure is nice and so is the Quebec City Hilton ( will be at least as cold as Boston and you may want to travel a bit further)

If you do decide on the Waldorf, be sure to get the Tower and not the standard hotel. The tower is beautiful, while the main part of the Waldorf has not aged well.

I would go for the Waldorf Towers (a Conrad Hotel), too. This seems to be best value for such voucher.

...and if you do settle on NY, don't overlook the Millenium Hilton in the Financial Dist. It's a newer property than any *wood, heated indoor pool, excellent public transit access to other parts of Manhattan. Definitely one I'd want to re-book despite my great loyalty to SPG.

Doubletree suites in NYC on New Year eve. (Not sure what you mean by "use it before year's end". Must you complete the stay, or just check-in before year's end?)
Sunset Key guest cottage in Key West.

But, one question. I'd guess neither of you has status at Hilton. Do the certs allow for any room? Suite? Or whatever closet they assign to non-status award members? That might "adjust" your expectations at certain properties.

There aren't even certs for this... my partner's company does tons of conferences with Hilton and so Hilton gave the company the free nights... and they in turn raffled it off...
We have a feeling that we are going to get star treatment since they do TONS of business with Hilton.

I agree with the earlier poster on changing the name of the thread. I didn't think Paris posted here.... ;)
Seriously, IF you can wrangle a suite out of this, don't overlook the Palmer House in Chicago. From now until 12/1, Chicago is a great town to visit for a couple of days. Plenty to do, and awesome food !
I also second the vote on the Pointe Hiltons....especially Squaw Peak. Lots of activities available, or you can just float around on the lazy river. In the end, it all depends on what you want to do with your days...

A suite at the Waldorf Towers would make this worth several thousand dollars, and give you an amazing experience in one of the best cities in the world at it's most magical. And NY, while expensive, also offers amazing values to people wanting to spend less. (TKTS for broadway tickets, world-class art, shopping and great food at any price)
But, since all the NY properties have been running super expensive, you really couldn't go wrong with almost any of them.
And, I'd go to the Hilton Time Sq. before Millenium Hilton, as it's pretty far downtown.

It's a nice and fun area indeed, but based on one 3 night mid-December visit I don't think it's of the caliber of many other Hilton properties that are being mentioned here. Was crowded, noisy (even more so than the usual ES which is almost guaranteed to be noisy given the design), and full of hordes of children. The breakfasts and managers receptions were free-for-alls.

Do change the thread title. I ignored it for a few days. It's the whole Paris and Nicky thing, something a *wood guy just wouldn't understand. ;)

That's an interesting scenario. If you can pull it off, Waldorf Towers is THE way to go. Keep your camera phone ready for discrete recordings of celeb citings.
Other than that, I'd focus on a desired location. Your warmth comments make me join the chorus on PHX - great locale for a getaway, and an above average selection of very nice props.
