I'm flying CX this week in F SFO-HKG, with a 3-hr layover before connecting onto HKG-CGK in J. From what I've read on here, I should be able to use the F CX lounge at HKG. However, the CX rep (I called the US 800#) just told me I'll only be able to use the business lounge, as access is determined by class of service of the departing flight. I was really looking forward to trying the F lounge for the first time - will I be able to? (I'm a lowly green Marco Polo member.)

But imho you're not missing much. They have showers, cabana rooms, and a little restaurant with decent food, but the Wing is on an open mezzanine above the departure area, and hardly a serene place. The Pier is a bit better, but you tend to choose between them depending on your departing gate - it's a ...long... walk between ends of the terminal. Enjoy the Noodle Bar in biz.

The rep is WRONG - unless policy has changed in the past year, pax arriving in F off a longhaul flight are entitled to F lounge access for their departing immediate-connecting flight. You will be issued with two lounge invitations in SFO - one for the BA lounge in SFO and one for CX in HKG, and it will have clearly printed on it "You are invited to CATHAY PACIFIC FIRST CLASS LOUNGE". This rule is well known among supervisors in HKG.

B-HXB is correct. I recently flew LAX-HKG in F connecting to BKK on a cheap discounted Y ticket. On check in at LAX I was given an invitation to the TBI CX lounge and an invitaion to the F lounge in HKG. Enjoyed a shower and nice breakfast in the Wing before claiming my Y seat to BKK.

I'm happy to report that, as most of you have said earlier, I was given access to CX F lounge in HKG. In fact, the invitation was given to me when I checked in at SFO.

I'm in the Pier now, just took a nice shower and checking email (slow connection though). The staff came to ask for my drink order as soon as I sat down at the computer, and I had a nice glass of fresh carrot juice.

Nice space, good service. Will try to check out the F lounge at the Wing on my way back.

Also check the opening time - if i remember correctly it is 6:30 for the Wing.
A few weeks ago i was arriving from LAX around 5:30 and had to wait fairly long before any lounge was open.
Would be nice if they opened earlier.
