One benefit of the Hawaiian miles card was that you had low level status that enabled you to snag extra award seats and get early seat assignments. I find nothing on their website. Did it disappear when I wasn't looking?

Thanks,

Indeed, I can no longer find any reference to it on the website either.

The last time, though, I was on the phone with an HA CSR (a couple of weeks ago), she mentioned that she could see that I was a "Pualani Preferred" customer.

BTW: If you're searching it's Pualani :)

I noticed this a couple of months ago. However, when booking flights and searching for award availability, I'm still given access to the exclusive Preferred seat inventory and elite-only forward seating.

Hmmmm.

Last year AQ did away with their "Executive Club" which essentially allowed you to buy into the lowest tier of their Ali'i program.

They got suprised when HA didn't follow suit and had to backtrack letting former Executive Club members buy Silver Ali'i status instead.

Since AQ & HA usually move in lock step on such service reductions I thought at the time that someone at HA had obviously lost the secret agreement to reduce service simultaneously.

Looks like HA has read the 2006 playbook and is setting the stage to go along with the reduction.

And here I was planning to jump to HA for the new year. But no, the same old games continue, HA & AQ just continue the race to the bottom.

Can't wait until FlyHawaii & Mesa get launched. Perhaps the insideous service reductions and cuts will finally end.

I received my latest paper statment from HA and it still showed "Pualani Preferred" in the upper right hand corner.

Also, upon booking my trip to Hawaii for next week, I was still able to get seats assigned that were blocked for Pualani Platinum, Gold, Preferred and Premier Club members, of which, I am only a HA Platinum Visa card holder from Bank of America.

My assumption, is that they still have that low-level tier status for B of A Platinum cardholders.
