Hilton HHonors - Multiple Night Rates on Hilton.com

When booking an upcoming 3 night stay in Boston on the Hilton website at the Hilton at Logan Airport came back at a best available rate of $219/night. But, if you book the nights separately they come back at $219, $199 & $179. Hilton is charging the highest rate of the stay for all 3 nights, even though 2 of the nights are cheaper. Needless to say I have 3 separate reservations saving me about $75.
It would be nice if Hilton.com could break down rates by the night.
Has anyone else found this ripoff? Any thoughts?

Yes, I found this too and just booked each night separately at the rate for that night and saved money. You would think that they would average it out for the nights but they do not.

Some other chains offer varying rates and disclose that, but not Hilton. I think this can be done easily. They simply choose not to. I find that very annoying.

I've known about this for years and always search by each day. I then combine any consecutive days that are the same price and book my room.
A couple weeks ago I did this at a Hilton hotel and had 1 night at $113 and 2 nights at $122. A day or two before I departed I checked my reservations and the 1 day had been canceled and the day added to the 2 day and the whole price adjust to the $113 rate. I thought WOW what great customer service. Fortunately I printed out the reservation. When I checked in the rate I initialed was for $113. When I got my bill that was not the case. Evidently someone had screwed up and now they tried to charge the two nights at $122. I took my reservation to the desk and politely explainend that I thought there must be some mistake. The desk person explained that was the rate I had reserved at and I explained that I wasn't the one that had changed the rate and that if she would like to get the card I initialed when I checked in she would see that I had clearly approved a nightly rate of $113. It was only after I repeated this for the 3rd time that she reluctantly got the card out and took it in the back office to talk with someone. She then brought it out and asked if my intials were my initials (Huh?) I noticed that someone else had hand written in the higher rate and initaled that.
I don't know why but it seems like I frequently have strange goings on at Hilton properties yet I never have any at Hilton Garden Inns where it seems like they can't do enough to earn my future business. Good news is there is a Garden Inn down the road a short distance so next time I will go let them make me feel like a welcome guest. :D ^

IIRC the UK site www.hilton.co.uk automatically takes each night's rate ^

Upcomming stay at the San Francisco Hilton - rate listed as $219 for first night, the $199 for second and third night. I have seen this plenty of times.

This is a real PITA for a longer stay due to all the different permutations that need checking.
If you have a stay booked and see it on hiltons site at a lower rate does that mean the lower price guarantee thing kicks in? ;)

I always check the rate for the entire stay AND by night.
I've often found cheaper rates individually so I book that way and have never had a problem.
I'm so cheap  , I will even check rates up until the time of my departure and on one occasion, I even changed a rate before checking in, since it was early morning.
On the Hilton web site, I have booked Conrads' when this was done automatically and correctly. For Ex., 3 nights at SIN Conrad, entered start date which was a Thurs, and requested 3 night, weekend days were $65 U.S. less. So, I've never worried about Conrads. Will start to pay attention to Hilton stays from now on.

I think it works the other way as well. I booked a three night stay at the Millenium Hilton in NYC and the rate (flexible) was $189/night. If the booking started the next day for two nights (or three) it was $299/night.

I have never seen that happen.

Try booking the Millenium Hilton on 1/1/06 for three nights and then try booking 1/2/06 for two or three and you will...

I said some other chains, like Radisson, or Holiday Inn. Personally, I've never seen varying nightly rates on a Hilton multi-night reservation.
