Air New Zealand Air Points - Where to find discounted biz fares ex-LHR?

I thought I could remember this question being asked recently, but after a search couldn't find anything... so apologies if this is repetitious.

I'm trying to find a decent discounted C/D fare from London to NZ or Australia in January (ideally a fare LHR-SYD that allows a stopover in AKL, which I think all NZ fares do). It's for my aunt, who is prepared to pay a bit extra for a truly flat bed.

So far, the best I can find is around 2,700GBP incl taxes (which compares unfavourably to approx 1,850GBP on Malaysian) on airline network. Any thoughts on where else I might be able to find such a fare? Do any of the big UK travel agents have a particular relationship with AirNZ?

Of course it could be that 2.7K is as good as it's going to get with NZ's flash new product, but I figured it was worth asking...

This is a good deal when compared to AKL fares ex LAX or SFO. I can fly on AC from YVR-LHR, then LHR to AKL and return for less than AKL ex USA. I am seriously considering doing this for my trip in FEB if I can't get an award seat.

try searching on www.travelsupermarket.com - have just been using for australia and found £2000 c rtn with cathay pacific and similar for emirates (not sureof either flies to nz?). www.traveljungle.co.uk is another multi-searcher of bucket shops.

Thanks for the links, carbonaddict. I've discovered the excellent deals on MH, CX and EK, and she'll probably end up using one of them, but she was really hoping to find something on NZ to try out their new beds. Ah well, maybe next year the price will come down a bit.

Incidentally, that travelsupermarket site throws up some amazing fares (like 950GBP return in biz) which then bears no resemblance to the fares actually available on the linked sites when you click through. Very strange...
