If so, I would wait until at least Spring 2006 to bid. No sense in locking yourself in at this point. Flyingmama Oct 15, 05, 11:04 am 22 July 2006? Unless there's some kind of big event going on at that time that might cause hotel rooms to fill up. In which case you would need to book early. carbonaddict Oct 15, 05, 11:11 am go on www.biddingfortravel.com and check in the chicago archives when and what people bid for july stays in 2005. this will give an idea. best thing then is to use the hotel list info on there to make targeted bids over next few weeks at low bids, then just wait a few days or weeks and repeat. I doubt that there will actually be much inventory in the system yet but you never know. Non-NonRev Oct 15, 05, 3:18 pm As you do your research, remember to also keep an eye on the convention calendar and the (non-convnetion) events calendar. Check room prices on the websites of speficic hotels that are in your desired area and star level. If you notice a lack of general avaiability on dates that coincide with a convention or event, Priceline might have lees (or no) inventory available. BetterBidding.com (http://betterbiddig.com) is a good second source for loking up bid histories, and the only choice to use if you need bidding assistance and want to be treated with courtesy and respect. I have managed to get rooms through Priceline even there is a convention in town. It seems that the hotels unload the unsold inventory to Priceline. Sometimes you may NOT get lucky before the same day or the day before. I have numerous occasions where my previous bids were not have been successful but my same day bid has. Priceline is not for faint hearted. |
