Delta SkyMiles (Pre-WorldPerks Merger) - Any way to get MQM w/out MRs?

Looks like I'll need 2302 MQMs to maintain GM this year. I hate to waste a weekend on a MR and was surprised that buying miles doesn't count toward MQM. Are there any other ways to get MQMs? (Already have DL Amex.) Or any tips for finding good MRs from MCO? Thanks in advance.

Why would you be surprised? MQMs are based on flown miles with very limited exceptions (such as the Amex card). There is no other way that I know of that is currently being offered.

You can do MCO-CVG-LGA-CVG-MCO with a same-day turnaround, all mainline and upgradable, for under $200 if you pick the right date (e.g., 10/29/05).
