Hertz - Online doesn't show rental count or amounts?

The only thing I can find when I log on to Hertz is a single entry for points related to a rental back in August.

I've had something like 4-5 rentals over that time period but I think they awarded AA miles on them.

So should i be able to see these things online?

or do I need to go recount my receipts to see how many rentals I have YTD?

Yes, you should be able to see your rentals, but you may get different results depending on whether you search by credit card number of driver's license number. I'd go back and play around on hertz.com. Or go back and check your credit card statements or your AAdvantage AAccount.

click on customer support-request receipt-detail

On the left of your receipt you will see this below.

RENTAL REFERENCE Rental Agreement No:547306093
Reservation ID:C8851681993
Frequent Traveler: ZE1

If yours says ZE1, than you earned Hertz points. If it has your frequent flyer program number than you got airline miles.

The only accurate way to find out your rentals to date that count towards 5*/PC is to call Hertz CS.

I just did a search on my previous rentals and found that most do not list either ZE1 or a frequent flyer number. When I pick up a rental, I always tell them I want to earn Hertz points, but after about a dozen rentals I have only 110 points. Is there a place to check in my profile and ensure this is set. I couldn't find a setting. Also, why would it default to nothing instead of Hertz points?

Thanks.

Go to - my profile - Personal data

Scroll down, it states:

If you check item 4, you may not receive offers and services that may be of interest to you, including Hertz #1 Awards Points and free rental days provided under Hertz #1 Club Gold loyalty programs such as Five Star, President's Circle and Manhattan Gold and Islander Gold programs.

In section A, make sure you check either item 1, 2 or 3.

I would also call Hertz CS and ask them to add your preference for ZE1 points to your profile.

Thanks for the reply. My profile was set to the first option for postal mail only. I will call them up and ensure ZE1 is in my profile. Do you think I'll have any luck getting credit on previous rentals? Is there any precedent for/against that?

You should be able to get retroactive credit. For whatever reason, my corporate travel agency always screws up my earning preference, so now I simply apply for retro credit (I choose to earn Marriott points)at the end of each month for all my rentals.

I have applied 6 months later and received points.

For example:

I try to make it a point to remind the agent about ZE1 when I check in, and I always review the receipt, however, I have found that at checkout, if your rental agreement doesn't show ZE1, then you should just ask the agent to print out a new one with the ZE1 so noted. Like a boarding pass with your FF number pirnted on it, the Hertz Rental Agreement with ZE1 indicated on it virtually assures the ZE1 points will post.

Thanks. The rentals I have problems with are the ones where I don't check in, but proceed directly to the car. I never thought to check receipts on return but will begin to do that. Thanks for the tip!

I emailed Hertz and they are going to process all of my previous rentals and have updated my profile to ensure ZE1 credit in the future.

Thanks everyone for your help!!
