Starwood Preferred Guest - Family vacation in Caribbean--Recommendations?

I am planning a family vacation in April 2006 with my wife and 2 kids who are 5 and 2. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a good Starwood property in the Caribbean? Presently, I am considering the Sheraton Our Lucaya in the Bahamas and the Westin St. John? Any experiences with these 2 or recommendations on other places?

I'll just put this out there since you are traveling with young children. Starwood Vacation Ownership (i.e. timeshare) has a property called Harborside Resort at Atlantis —**Paradise Island , Bahamas

We're SVO owners and are planning on visiting this property in December so I can't speak from any personal experience, yet. But my understanding is that villas at the property can be booked like you would a hotel, and that you get privileges at the nearby Atlantis Resort and Casino.

It would seem to be a very family friendly option as the accommodations at Harborside are villas so even at the "lowest" level you'd have a bedroom, separate living area, and kitchenette. Atlantis has a children's program that your older child could participate in. There are also meal plans at Atlantis you could participate in.

But I have no idea if SPG points are earned by staying there and I'm pretty sure you can't use SPG points to book a villa.

Well I have stayed at the Atlantis ( With kids) , while the Pools etc and the look of the place was fantastic the service and the Staff attitude was the worst I have ever experienced. It is overpriced ( by along way ) and I would not return for Free.

Last Sumer had a great Stay at the Westin Grand Cayman. The beach is amazing, my young boy loved it ( To be fair it is a little quiet but that suited) and we cant wait to return.

I'm planning on going to The Westin Roco Ki Beach & Golf Resort in Dominican Republic...however, it's not clear to me whether it's opening April 1 or Nov. 1 2006. Until then, I highly recommend the Westin St. John, USVI.
