Air New Zealand Air Points - NZ 90, 99 seat config

I'm flying Business on NZ 90 (7 Jan) and NZ 99 (30 Jan) and was wondering if the planes would have the new configurations before then.

If so, where are the seat maps online?

The schedule is currently showing them both as operated by non-refurbished a/c. Obviously this can change (not all 747s done by then).

These flights are currently scheduled to be operated by an old-configuration 747. Its unlikely that AKL-NRT will get the refitted aircraft by January, as Air NZ are initially deploying them on the USA, London, and select trans-tasman services.

Seat maps are viewable by creating a "dummy" booking on airnz.com and clicking on "select seats". You can also now retrieve them somewhat more easily on expertflyer.com, a subscription service.

Hmm, expertflyer.com currently shows them both as non-refurbished (74E).

Apologies for the error.

Maybe it is just because they fly to San Francisco 3 times a week and have a day spare in the timetable to use it on this leg. But the Tuesday Jumbo to Tokyo NZ99 and back NZ90 are showing up in the new config not the 74E.

I am booked on Tuesday 25th October in seat 1K and the dummy booking shows the new seat layout.

This would mean the NZ90 flight from CHC to AKL on the Wednesday is also in the new config.

This may change once the 777's arrive and they redeploy the 747s onto the AKL-LAX route, but in the meantime - I am really looking forward to this overnight flight.

I will let you know at the end of October if it is the new layout or not.
