Air New Zealand Air Points - Any way to wisely spend $250 airpoints?

I just looked at my spouse's airpoints account - looks like we have $250-300 that's going to expire by 1 OCT *and* we're grounded in Wellington doing a project where we can't hop on a plane to use them up. Does anyone have any suggestions what do with it? (besides gifting them to you ;) ) The website didn't have a lot of options and I would hate to see these dollars expire.

Don't forget that you can book for flights well over 300 days ahead - maybe for a public holiday weekend next year e.g. Queens Birthday? Assuming that it's a safe bet you can get time off then.

Otherwise, good question - they have done away with a lot of the non-travel related options (you used to be able to buy mixed cases of wine etc).
