Southwest Rapid Rewards - HELP, What if I miss a flight..??

Ok you experts I need some help.
I am flying to Kansas city on Oct 1 and return on October 2.
Here is the problem my return is at 7:20 but I will probably mis that one but there are 2 more going out that night.?
What are my options can I go standby ??

I know I can pay extra and upgrade to a full fare ( don't want to do that )

All help appreciated in advance.

According to the FAQ linked at the top, #9, if you miss your flight by 2 hours or less, you can standby without having to pay up to the full fare.
