I am flying out on US and instead of my usual rollerboard would like to take a TravelPro wheelable garment bag. The bag is not the "squishable" kind. Will I be given grief if I try and board with it or is a (folded) garment bag acceptable?

One of my segments is an Embraer 170 jet (when I've traveled on NW small planes, my rollerboard sometimes won't fit in an overhead because of its depth.)

I refuse to check my luggage for this 3-day business trip.

input anyone?

emb 170 has ample overhead bin space...

and now with people dragging 70lb bags on board I guess everything works.

I've had very good luck with my non-rolling “squishable” garment bag, even when its been stuffed very full. It more or less conforms itself to the overhead bin. However, I’ve had lousy luck with my rolling garment back that has a “spine” along the fold that makes the top of the bag fairly wide and rigid when folded. It’s a fairly large version of the rolling garment type, so a smaller one might work.

I’m now on a perpetually unsatisfying quest to find a rolling garment bag that is also squishable. If any FT’rs know where I can find one please post!
