My husband made a cardinal stay error. He booked us at two different Hyatts for the same night, both using hyatt.com
I caught it instantly, when I got the confirmation.
However, the damage was done, per se.
He said, let's see if it would work to get two stays and two FFN credits.
It does not anymore.
We got stay, FFN, and points credit at one property.
We got points for the other property, but no credit.
Just an FYI for those of you who want to try to Hyatt Hop on the same night.

Ahhh, I guess those computers wisened up during the recent software upgrade on 3/1/05. That's too bad. It was nice while it lasted..........
Did you check-in to both hotels? I am sure you did but I have to ask.

And CS said no when you called? What happens if you stay at PH Tokyo one night, fly 12 hours and then stay at Park San Francisco the "same" night? Just one stay? Doesn't seem fair.

Diva's right...
When I have a late departure I often will pay for the room so I am guaranteed to be able to use it for the day.
What about if I do that and then check into another Hyatt the same night, which is entirely possible.

There's an almost identical thread to this one in the Starwood Forum. It even has the same examples such as diva's above about flying from Asia to the USA. Over at SPG though, they not only get no stay credit for the 2nd stay in one night, they also get NO points for that 2nd stay. Although most people don't agree with it and think it is a stupid rule. So unfortunately it is not just Hyatt. BTW, here's a link to the SPG thread:
Starwood - worst treatment of their best customers (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=472854&page=1&pp=40&highlight=credit+points)
Earlier this year I had the chance to do such a double stay legitimately. I was in HNL at the Sheaton Princess with a late-ish flight to SFO then on to LAS arriving in LAS around 11pm that same night. I s. called Starwood the next day just to check if I would get both stay credits and told them about the prior days stays. (Neither had posted as it was barely 24 hours later). I did receive 2 stay credits along with the appropriate points.

I did check in.
She said I could have points, since I paid for it.
I asked if I could put it into my husband's Diamond number and she said no.
